So refreshing to be able to schedule a next day appointment. Had a great experience at Small Door in Navy Yard. Everyone was nice and more importantly the veterinarian, Dr. Fitzmaurice, was kind and knowledgeable. She also thoroughly explained everything. Wonderful bedside manner. She was also prompt and considerate with my time. Very happy with their treatment for my dog who was limping. The right meds for his limp and a plan if it does not get better. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Reasonably priced too!

Decent experience with very friendly vet and staff. Easy to make an appointment, get records set up, convenient location, etc.

As far as the pricing model, I don't really see any benefit to this subscription model and found there wasn't a lot of transparency about pricing for individual services. The services I did see pricing for while with the vet were on the higher end of "average" for DC, so the price for membership really only covers one health check assuming you don't need telehealth or last minute appointments (which they did have as soon as next day for new patient). And at that rate, the membership is more than a checkup at most other vets in the area.

I joined assuming there would be some other benefits to the subscription, like a discount on services, but that wasn't the case and there are definitely more reasonable prices around. Unless you have a dog prone to eating things and could benefit from next day appointments and telehealth, I wouldn't recommend.

I highly recommend Small Door to all pet parents. This place is awesome and have an amazing staff. You do not need to worry about waiting to get an appointment and the best is you get the same doctor for your pet. The package deal was also cost effective.

The staff in Navy Yard are friendly and professional. I love how Small Door has set up its client-facing interface on the app. It's incredibly easy to ask questions through the app and receive timely responses. Also very easy to access vet records and schedule new appointments. Membership or not, worth every penny. I have a membership and have been bringing my dog for almost a year now and will continue doing so.

I can’t fully express how happy I am that I found Small Door Veterinary and the care from Terri LVT and Dr. Wells! ❤️ My pup is the love of my life and I’m always worried about him or just get scared when visiting a new vet, but this wasn’t the case. Their waiting room is spacious, very open and inviting, we barely spend any time there since Dr. Wells was super quick to look for us! The exam rooms are just AMAZING, Terri and Dr. Wells were so kind and went through absolutely everything with my fur baby! He had toys and was able to move freely in the room while we discussed his care. I am so beyond grateful that I signed up for the membership and looking forward to our next checkup!

The staff at Small Door Navy Yard at so amazing and made me feel confident leaving my cat with them for dental extractions. A big bonus for me was that they don’t take your pet out of the room for checkups, they do everything with you.
